Woman Why Weepest Thou?
Isaiah
61:3 (NKJV)
“To
console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes,
The
oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of
heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The
planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
To
Weep - To express grief, sorrow, or any overpowering emotion by
shedding tears. Also weep for joy.
Many
women wept in the Bible. For one reason or another, something in
their lives caused them much heartache and a deep inner pain that it
caused them to weep.
Ruth
1:9 (NKJV) "May the LORD grant that you may find rest,
each in the house of her husband." Then she kissed them, and
they lifted up their voices and wept.
Both
Ruth and Orpah had had the misfortune of losing their husbands. Now
their Naomi their mother-in-law was kissing them goodbye that she may
return to her land of Judah.
All
3 of these women had been widowed.
1
Samuel 1:7-8(NKJV)“So, it was, year by year, when she went
up to the house of the Lord, that she provoked her; therefore, she
wept and did not eat. Then Elkanah her husband said to her, "Hannah,
why do you weep and why do you not eat and why is your heart sad? Am
I not better to you than ten sons?"
Hannah’s
heart was filled with so much grief and heartache because she was
childless.
Peninnah,
her husband’s other wife had children and she also provoked her
severely.
God
had closed Hannah’s womb.
John
11:32-33 “Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she
fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here,
my brother would not have died.”
“Therefore,
when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her also
weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled.”
Mary
and Martha had lost their brother Lazarus.
Mary
was certain that had Jesus been there, their brother would not have
died.
Mary
wept for the loss of her brother.
Luke
7:12-13(NKJV) “And when He came near the gate of the city, behold,
a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she
was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her. 13 When
the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not
weep.”
The
widow of Nain was grieved by the death of her only son and only
child.
V13
- “When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her
do not weep”.
When
Jesus is in house every weeping ceases. So, shall it be on Saturday
18 November 2017, that The Lord of compassion who will be present at
the RCCG Sanctuary, Stratford will declare to every woman present
that “do not weep for your morning has come”.
John
20:11-18(NKJV) But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she
wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. 12 And she saw two
angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet,
where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 Then they said to her, “Woman,
why are you weeping?”
Mary
wept because she thought Jesus’ body had been taken away.
She
was grieved because she thought she would never see her Master’s
dead body again.
If
Mary had remembered that Jesus had told them that He would rise up on
the third day, she would have been rejoicing, she would have been
praising God.
Like
Mary, whose only desire was to know where they had put Jesus’ body,
many of us face the challenges of life as if we do not have a risen
savior.
We
too forget that Jesus not only defeated death then but is alive
today.
We
deal with life as those without hope.
We
fail to remember the victory won for us on Calvary, we forget that we
are “seated with Him in the heavenly places”.
To
any of us who maybe weeping, including those who will attend the
program tomorrow, Jesus is asking “woman why are you weeping?”.
PRAYER
POINTS:
-
Father grant every woman who will attend the WWWT program, beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
-
Mary, Lazarus’ sister said to Jesus: “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”
-
Lord help every woman present tomorrow to be steadfast and unmovable always, trusting and believing that You are always there with us even when we go through the fire.
-
In our weeping, God may none of us including those who will attend tomorrow’s program not become discouraged or weary but help us like Hannah to become strengthened in the Lord and to place our hope in Christ knowing and remembering that He has already won the victory for us.
-
Lord let not whatever is causing us to weep become a distraction to the real work you have placed in our hands, help us to see beyond our tears.
-
Father prepare the heart of every individual preparing to attend the WWWT program, let each heart be that good ground that will readily receive your Word and allow for it to grow.
-
Tomorrow Lord, let RCCG Sanctuary Stratford become like a magnet that will draw everyone who has received any form of invitation for the WWWT program to it. Psalm 18:35(NET) - “You give me your protective shield; your right hand supports me; Your willingness to help enables me to prevail”.
-
Lord may You always be a protective shield over Pastor Yetunde even as she makes her final preparations in readiness for the WWWT program tomorrow and may Your right hand never cease to support her.
-
May Your willingness to help our Pastor and every other speaker tomorrow Father, cause them to prevail over this work You have set before them.
-
Holy Spirit of God be in the midst of it all at RCCG Sanctuary Stratford, from the beginning to the end. May we feel Your presence amongst us like never before.
